Technology Summary

A novel method of treatment has been identified by OHSU researchers that has the potential to effectively treat HER-2 positive breast cancer.  The approach involves using an antibody that is capable of targeting a signaling molecule responsible for tumor growth.  This novel targeted therapy in combination with chemotherapy can benefit a patient population that otherwise carries a poor prognosis.
